Bushkill Waterfalls

Since I mentioned the waterfalls of Bushkill Falls, Pennsylvania in my last post, I decided I must share some picks of the photos I took during our vacation. These waterfalls were honestly astonishing as you can see from the photos. Bushkill Falls is a privately owned park in the Pocono Mountains and is now one of my favorite places, next to Big Sur, California, Alaska, and Old Man's Cave, Ohio, which I have visited all twice and cannot wait to go back. Bushkill Falls is known as the Niagara of Pennsylvania and contains eight waterfalls and the highest falls there are 100 feet. The owners built sturdy wood steps and decking, which you can see in two of the photos above,  these decks made it possible to get up close and walk over the falls while still being safe. The whole place made me feel like I was in the jungle, it was awe-inspiring  and worth walking all the stairs and trails. If anyone is looking for a place to vacation I would highly recommend the Bushkill Area or Old mans Cave in Ohio. Below is a link to their websites for more information.

Mushrooms

This photo was taken at the Bushkill Falls, Pennsylvania where we went on a family vacation this summer. The drive was very long, about 12 hours with all the stopping, but well worth it when we finally arrived. We spent three days visting different waterfalls throughout the Bushkill area. While I was hiking throught the trails, I came across these mushrooms which were about an inch in length, so I took a close-up of them and this is the photo I ended up with. To think if I was not paying attention I could have stepped on them and smushed the mushrooms right into the ground and never have gotten this photo. This is why I always emphasize the saying "Don't hurry, Don't worry and Don't forget to smell the flowers." If you pay attention you would not believe the things you can see in this world. Till next time...

Iris

The name Iris comes from the greek word meaning "rainbow", and it seems to fit perfectly seeing how many different colors are available. There are approxiamately 200 species, some grow from bulbs and some from rhizomes. This particular type is Tall Bearded Iris, and does grow from a rhizome. I dug up, split and replanted rhizomes last fall and got beautiful flowers this summer, this being one of them. The big photo is my absolute favorite, out of any photo I have ever taken, I love to capture the close-ups of the inside of flowers and think they tend to get overlooked to frequently. Take a close look deep inside a flower next time you see one and see what you find, watch out though, you might run into a bug of some sort having it's lunch. I have a few photos of insects which I will post at a later time, I find them amazing as well. Till next time...

Turquoise Necklace

A turquoise necklace, made about a year ago, unfortunely I still haven't found the time to create two pieces aweek, so i'm cheating alittle. Turquoise is a receptive stone, the powers of this stone are protection and healing. Wear turquoise to attract new friends, to be joyous, in a good mood and increase beauty. Also this stone attracts good fortune. This necklace contains 19 stones, each stone is approxiamately 1 inch in length and contains a mix of blue/ green color with black matix veins. The total length of the necklace is 20 inches and is a choker style. Feels very smooth and fits nicely when worn.
